Coiling Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1976 as a fast turnaround, short-run spring manufacturing company. However, through the years Coiling Technologies has evolved to meet a variety of industry-specific needs. CTI is ISO certified and continually audited. We strive to improve the quality and service our customers should expect from a spring manufacturer. Our products are analyzed both prior to production, and during, to ensure that we are meeting or exceeding your specifications.
Our Three Main Objectives:
Better: Coiling Technologies Inc., key objective is to deliver best quality of spring that meets or exceeds your current product specifications. We are better than our competition and we will repeat ourselves each and every time.
Faster: Our lead times are consistently better than our industry counterparts due to our ability to manage our workforce and maintain our customer requirements.
More Economical: Better manufacturing methods mean shorter production times. Improved consistency by higher levels of technology means fewer mistakes and less waste. Combining this means we can be very competitive when it comes to pricing. We have built an excellent foundation, through our methods savings, to offer you a lower cost now and for years to come.

About Coiling Technologies FAQs
What is Coiling Technologies and what does the company build?
Coiling Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1976 in Houston, Texas as a fast turnaround, short-run spring manufacturer, and has broadened since then into industry specific work. The product range covers large coil, compression, extension, torsion, disc, wave, die, drawbar, and suspension springs, plus wire forms, canted coil springs, and pipe hanger springs. Military suspension springs and large or heavy-duty springs are called out on the site as specialties. CTI is ISO 9001:2015 certified and continually audited, and products are analyzed before production and during it against customer specifications.
What does single facility manufacturing mean for my part?
Design, prototyping, coiling, heat treatment, finishing, and inspection all happen at the Houston facility under one ISO 9001 certified quality management system, without outsourcing to outside vendors. That matters in two places. Schedule risk drops because a part is never sitting in a queue at a heat treater or a coater CTI does not control. Accountability stays in one place when something goes wrong, since the same organization that coiled the spring did the heat treatment and the inspection, and can trace a dimensional or load result back through its own process records rather than through a subcontractor's.
What do the objectives Better, Faster, and More Economical mean in practice?
Those are CTI's own words for how the company positions itself. Better means delivering spring quality that meets or exceeds the specification on the drawing, repeatably. Faster means lead times consistently better than industry counterparts, which the company attributes to how it manages its workforce against customer requirements rather than to any single machine. More economical means better manufacturing methods produce shorter production times, and higher levels of process technology produce fewer mistakes and less waste, which together support competitive pricing. The claim to test at RFQ is the lead time, so ask for a date against your actual part.
Why does domestic manufacturing matter when offshore springs quote cheaper?
Unit price is the part of the cost an offshore quote shows you. The rest surfaces later. A domestic supplier means the engineering conversation happens in the same business day rather than on a twelve hour lag, drawing revisions and load changes get absorbed without a new production cycle across an ocean, and freight is truck time instead of container time with customs. For a spring failing in the field, a Houston manufacturer can look at the failed part in days. Buyers supplying the US Military and government agencies also frequently carry domestic sourcing requirements that offshore quotes cannot satisfy at all.
Who does Coiling Technologies build springs for?
The customer base spans Fortune 500 companies, the automotive aftermarket, the US Military, and other government agencies. Industries served include actuators, agriculture, construction, deep sea, material handling, military, mining, oil and gas and petrochemical, playground and recreation equipment, snow removal, valves, vehicle suspensions, electric vehicles, pipe hangers and supports, canted coil springs, and medical devices. One project on the site gives a sense of the extreme end of that work, special Inconel springs supplied for the deep sea research submersible ALVIN, which operates to 21,000 feet (6,500 m).
Why bring an unusual or difficult spring design to Coiling Technologies?
Because the company started in short-run, fast turnaround work and never structured itself around long production runs of one part. Engineering Services, Spring Design Services, Prototyping, Heat Treating, Non-Destructive Testing, Powder Coating, and Shot Peen are all performed in house, so a design that needs several iterations before it holds load correctly does not accumulate delay at each handoff. The engineering team can develop a design from a performance requirement when no finished drawing exists yet.
